Fans of Americana will love this festival held at Jack Stoddard's farm in Crawford. Jack holds this and other events because a) he loves music and knows what a vehicle for good it is; and b) to collect donations of food and cash to help the "undeserving" rural poor on the mountain. This is a 4 day festival of bands you might not have heard of and vendors selling folk art. The vibe is very homey and children are provided with a play area as well as the creek that runs through. Those that are tired of the corporate money-making machine that big festivals have become will welcome this chance to hang out with regular folks and make a difference. The music is under a huge tent and also in a sanctuary. There are just a few food and drink vendors, and nothing is super expensive...even the vendors donate to the cause. Can't say enough good things about this event.
My husband and I have been going to the festival since the beginning. It's a place to meet old and new friends, the music is never disappointing and the venue is great!
Plus the sanctuary shows let you get up close and personal with the artists and the music. Very intimate.
